HouaPhan of MN Inc. Scholarship Program 2024

Empowering the Future of Hmong Youth through Education

Welcome to the HouaPhan of MN Inc. Scholarship Program for 2024! We are excited to announce the availability of three $1000 scholarships for high school seniors and college students of Hmong ancestry residing in Minnesota. Our scholarship program aims to support and encourage the academic pursuits of Hmong youth as they embark on their educational journeys.

Scholarship Details

Three $1000 scholarships will be awarded to students enrolled in an accredited vocational/certification program, college, or university for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a current Minnesota high school graduate or college student.
  • Enroll, be accepted, or plan to attend an accredited educational institution in an undergraduate program starting in 2024.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or above.
  • Be a Minnesota resident.
  • Have at least one parent of Hmong ancestry.

Interested students must submit their applications and essays by July 31, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time. Applications and essays should be emailed to: HouaPhanmn2023@gmail.com.

Essay Topic:

  • Briefly describe your long-term and short-term goals and explain how this HouaPhan Scholarship can benefit your post-secondary educational goals.
  • Essays should be 500 words or less, typed, and will be evaluated on spelling, grammar, and creativity.

Terms & Conditions

  • HouaPhan of MN Inc. reserves the right to change scholarship award criteria, terms, conditions, and dates without advance written notice.
  • Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and submit all required documents by the deadline to be considered for scholarships.
  • Selection and announcement of the 3 scholarship recipients will be made on or before August 3, 2024.
  • Scholarship recipients will be contacted using the contact information provided in their application and must respond within 72 hours to avoid forfeiture.
  • Recipients agree to allow HouaPhan of MN to publish their names and photos for news and social media releases.
  • Scholarship awards will be presented on August 17, 2024, during the HouaPhan Annual Picnic at Battle Creek Regional Park from 3 pm-4 pm.
